Jax Hurst (MINCH) is a Northern Queer Artist and disruptive communicator, originally from Tameside, Greater Manchester they are based for the time being in Manchester.

Jax Hurst (MINCH) is an artist that challenges the notion of communication. They work predominantly with photography, video, craft, installation, and graphic design. As a practitioner they are interested in queerness, subversion, alternative pathways, post-branding, design anarchy, and slow fashion. Their work places itself at times into the world of the absurd through tongue-in-cheek notions, and it maintains a visually experimental voice as a way of expanding horizons and being disruptive through communication.

Minch is the nickname my dad gave to me when I was born. He said it was based from the weird sounds I was making. He called it Minching. (From the zine, Minch, 2020.)
